GPEF is a nonprofit, tax-exempt foundation established in 1963 to provide financial assistance to promising Georgia students studying journalism at colleges and universities throughout the state. It also provides local newspapers with grants to hire paid summer interns.
Internships provide students with real-life work experience while reinforcing their educational training.
Many interns credit the program with giving them a perspective of the newspaper business that they could not have gleaned from the classroom alone.
Your donations and participation will help deserving students forge a career in the newspaper industry.
